Claire Liu (USA) meets Tatiana Prozorova (Russia) at the Prudential Hong Kong Tennis Open, a WTA hard-court event starting 2 November 2026. The match contrasts Liu’s tour experience with Prozorova’s younger career, which has been mostly ITF-based.
Claire Liu’s baseline game
Liu, a right-handed American born in 2000, has competed mainly on the WTA Tour and in Grand Slam qualifying. Public rankings list a career-high singles position inside the top 100. She relies on clean baseline hitting and coverage; on outdoor hard courts she uses moderate margin and redirects pace.
Tatiana Prozorova’s step up
Prozorova represents Russia and, by open-source records, is a younger player whose senior results have come mostly on the ITF circuit. She has played WTA qualifying, where ball-striking and willingness to step inside the court stand out. The match tests her consistency and return depth against a more established opponent.
