Daniel Merida Aguilar meets Sebastian Baez in the first round of the 2026 Rolex Paris Masters, an ATP Masters 1000 event on indoor hard courts in Paris.
Sebastian Baez: clay-court strength under indoor test
Baez, an Argentine ATP player, is best known for clay-court results. Indoor hard courts demand a stronger serve and quicker points, testing his adaptation against a lower-ranked opponent.
Daniel Merida Aguilar: Spanish player seeking a breakthrough
Merida Aguilar is a Spanish ATP player with less tour-level exposure. He will aim to serve well and attack early to avoid extended rallies. Public reports suggest he is the outsider in ranking terms.
Matchup context: surface, format and schedule
The indoor hard court favors first-strike tennis in a best-of-three format. The 09:00 UTC start is early for a Masters event, and both players must adjust quickly.
